Whimsy is an organization that values the wonder and awe of childhood. Through hands-on and developmentally appropriate experiences, Whimsy is dedicated to honoring the importance of play, exploration, and collaboration. We offer book clubs, private events, and recreation for children ages 4–15 in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Lead by a mother and educator, Whimsy incorporates literature and the arts to inspire and enliven spirits.

For reluctant and enthusiastic readers alike, summer book club provides a platform for sharing thoughts, ideas and feelings through literature. Whether your child needs some accountability to complete his/her summer reading assignments, or your child is an avid reader looking to discuss literature with other young readers, we can help!

Let us plan, coordinate, host and produce your little one’s next party. Concepts include tea parties and princess parties to pirate and campout themes. We can also conceptualize and produce custom themes. Party decor, favors, activities, crafts, refreshments and games are included. Let us add a whimsical touch to your child’s event!

We provide one-on-one, individualized instruction to children in grades Pre-K through Grade 9. Lessons are tailored to your child’s unique learning style and academic needs. Content areas include reading, writing, math, and study skills for elementary students, English / Language Arts and study skills for upper elementary and middle school.

Philosophy

Growing up in a family full of artists, I was immersed in an environment that valued and encouraged creativity. I was taught to appreciate the architecture of our quaint little town, to notice the beautiful swirls of color in a rain puddle, to use found objects to create something whimsical.  I also learned early on that the creative process is meant to be shared. Not only was my father a freelance graphic designer, but he also opened up his basement studio to provide art lessons to kids in the community. Likewise, my mother was a talented seamstress, cook, and avid reader who shared her talents with others. Just as I was inspired to see the beauty and wonder in my surroundings and work collaboratively with other dreamers and thinkers, my goal is to also foster the creative vision in young people.”
